Carr Workplaces GM Receives Alexandria’s 40 Under 40 Award

Carr Workplaces GM Brittany Rice was recognized this week by the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce for her professional accomplishments, community and volunteer work and her impact on the Alexandria, VA community.   For those of us who know Brittany, this award comes as no surprise.  Brittany, who has been with Carr Workplaces for 7 years, is a tireless, enthusiastic self-starter who makes things happen as manager of the Carr Workplaces Old Town location.

While being recognized for professional and civic achievements with this award, her success has much to do with her commitment to the community.  She both lives and works in Alexandria but loves also to spend her free time with the many opportunities that the historic Old Town waterfront neighborhood has to offer.

We asked her about Alexandria and the things and places that she loves most. Here’s what she had to say:

Best Alexandria Brunch Spot?  Bastille.  It’s right in my neighborhood, has a great wine selection and fantastic shrimp beignets.

Favorite local Alexandria shop?  The Hour is by far my favorite – antique barware, vintage art and jewelry.  Also fun, The Torpedo Factory for the latest from local artists.

Best local place on the water?  Blackwall Hitch or Virtue Feed & Grain

Best coffee shop?  Killer E.S.P.   They serve Stumptown coffee and the owner’s adorable boston terrier greets all of the guests.

Favorite thing about Alexandria?  The small town feel.  I love walking down the street and running into people I know -the familiar faces.  And, I love that Alexandria celebrates small businesses!

Congratulations again, Brittany!  You represent Carr Workplaces and Alexandria well!

Interested in working at Carr Workplaces? We’d love to hear from you.
