New Year’s “reSOLUTIONS”

On your mark, get set…

Starting and growing a business is challenging but owning your own business can be one of the most rewarding feelings. The connections, the accomplishments, self-growth and getting to do what you love every day is hard to come by. I’ve been the General Manager of Carr Workplaces Tysons location for two years now and observed a lot of sweat equity put in by my clients to grow their businesses. As we embark on the new year, I thought I’d share some success tips from these entrepreneurial rockstars to add to your list of 2018 resolutions.

1. Give your business a home – When you find yourself over cluttered at home, it might be time to consider giving your business a physical presence of its own. Many of my clients start with a Virtual Office that gives them a prestigious business address along with their own business phone number and professional answering service.

2. Run more productive meetingsSchedule a space away from distractions, develop an agenda (and stick to it), create a list of follow up actions item with timelines for each.

3. Network more – Think outside the box for how you might do this! Start a conversation with your neighbor, join LinkedIn industry groups, host your own networking event! I’ve seen the coworking atmosphere benefit many of our clients at Tysons by being able to spark new ideas off one another, build networks and establish lasting professional relationships.

My last tip as you plan your goals and reSOLUTIONS is to keep it simple, focus on doing a few things great. One quality, of many, that I love about Carr Workplaces is that it supplies the resources for businesses that may be overwhelmed and helps them to flourish. We can help customize your experience based on your business plan and help you stay on track for success.
